Original Secession Church Graveyard, Abbey Close, Paisley
28th & 29th March 2026
The date of our first survey has been pencilled in for the weekend of 28–29 March. This small graveyard was established in 1769 following the Original Secession Church breaking away from the Church of Scotland in 1749. There are 451 recorded burials within the graveyard, although relatively few headstones or memorials are visible today. Town plans from the 1850s suggest that around 40 stones were visible at the time of survey, the majority of which survive today.
